* General Ideology *revised*
It has been years since the Entity ideology was first defined and looking
back, it seems Entity's goals have "evolved" somewhat. Rephrased:
"The core goal of the netlabel Entity remains
to serve as a platform to encourage experimentation in musical forms,
and to put focus on specific artists' unique styles that distinguish
them from the crop, as subjectively perceived by labelmanager Jan
Robbe.
This definition is not to be taken too strictly as deviations are possible
in the form of collaborations, conceptual works, audiovisual/interactive
projects or simply in the name of entertainment."
disclaimer:
- Entity does not intend to represent any political, cultural, moral
or religious ideals. All releases are courtesy of their respective authors.
- Entity is non-profit, though reserves the right to accept donations
or sell works online provided that the respective authors permit it.
- All works on this site are licensed under a Creative
Commons License. To verify individual releases' licenses, check
their respective archive.org
page.

* Micro-releases for donators
To encourage and express our thanks for donations, we wanted to offer
a little extra, and so the concept of micro-releases was established.
These releases are shorter, but not different from our other Entity
releases. After a while they will get replaced to keep things interesting.
If you've donated to any of our artists you will need to contact us
to receive the ep. You can check the artwork and more info in the [sim]
section.

* General Ideology
Besides the obvious lack of labels that focus on experimental electronica,
a lot of reasons eventually gave birth to the Entity netlabel.
From our own background in electronic composition, we know that it has
become increasingly impossible for experimental musicians not to
compromise their styles in order to have their music commercially released,
either because of the narrowmindedness that accompanies commercialism
in many ways or because of the narrowmindedness of the brainwashed listener.
Besides that, it still takes months for something to get released/distributed
so most of the time a release is relatively old by the time it is out.
Netlabels are a solution for all of that and more. All music is legal,
free of charge, copyrights belong to the respective authors, no money
is involved for us to run away with or for you to spend.
The Tinnitus netlabel - founded by Kaebin Yield (Nico De Gols) in September
2002 - died a silent death (due to disrupted.org serverproblems) and
is hereby reincarnated. Thanks to the divine hands of those in charge
of the scene.org cyberculture, the Tinnitus
backcatalog can still be downloaded (artists include Lost_Bit, ps,
Ellende, no Xivic, Nightech and more).
As an mp3/ogg netlabel, Entity Records supports artists from around
the world that stand out in their own unique style(s), and that know
how to blend artistic expression with intricate technical originality.
Artists can send us their work which we will carefully analyse and consider
for release if we are blown away by it far enough, but we will also
contact artists individually to bring Entity Records to their attention.
The type of releases that Entity will make available to you equally
depends on the (greatly overlapping) tastes and opinions of Nico De
Gols (Kaebin Yield, Duncan Avoid) and Jan Robbe (UndaCova, Erratic,
Duncan Avoid). If you like what we listen to (check the "recommended
albums" on our main page for that), you should have an idea
of what you can expect from Entity Records.
